Job Overview
- Job Title: International Liaison Support Officer
- Grade: Executive Officer (EO)
- Position Type: Full-time, Permanent
- Working Hours: 38 hours per week (Sunday–Wednesday: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM; Thursday: 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM). Note: The NCA operates 24/7. You must be flexible to travel within KRI and occasionally work evenings or weekends for events and operational needs (overtime or time off in lieu will apply).
- Salary: USD 2,604 per month (paid 13 times a year) + a monthly security allowance of USD 200.
Key Responsibilities
1. Administrative & Office Support
- Provide daily logistical and administrative help to the NCA International Liaison Officers (ILOs) fighting Serious Organised Crime (SOC).
- Manage the office diary, plan travel/visits, organize official events, and manage the office mailbox and telephone.
- Maintain office accounts, asset registers, and the gifts and hospitality log.
- Take over general office management duties when the ILO is away from post.
2. Language & Translation Services
- Provide fast, accurate Kurdish Sorani translation and interpretation for documents, meetings, and official events under tight deadlines.
- Strictly maintain confidentiality and high levels of information security.
3. Stakeholder & Project Management
- Direct and line-manage locally engaged staff (CBS) working for the NCA.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with KRI government institutions and senior officials.
- Conduct open-source research, focusing heavily on Kurdish Sorani information sources.
- Oversee, monitor, and evaluate regional training programs and budgets to ensure value for money.
- Work with the Risk section to identify and develop operational disruption reports.
Candidate Requirements
Essential Skills & Experience
- Languages: Completely fluent in written and spoken English and Kurdish Sorani (translation skills are required).
- Work History: Proven experience working directly with Iraqi state institutions.
- Tech Skills: Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and basic financial accounting.
- Data Handling: Ability to process large amounts of data and turn it into clear, brief reports.
- Interpersonal Skills: Confident communicating with senior-level officials.
- Independence: Ability to work with minimal supervision, prioritize tasks, and maintain strict confidentiality.
Desirable (Bonus) Skills
- Existing professional connections to secure access to senior leaders/Directors within KRI government institutions.
- A valid, full driving license.
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience involving high levels of personal accountability.
- Professional proficiency in Arabic.

Eligibility & Nationality Requirements (Crucial)
- Visas & Residency: You must already have the legal right to live and work in Iraq/KRI. The Consulate cannot assist with or sponsor residency permits, and does not cover relocation or housing costs.
- Security Clearance: To pass the mandatory high-level UK and local security clearance for this role, applicants must hold nationality from a Five Eyes country (UK, USA, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand).
